WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT CHIA OIL?

I am sure many of us are pretty familiar with Chia seeds by now and probably familiar with its benefits.

According to the health line;

“Chia seeds are very rich in fibreantioxidants, minerals, and heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids. They have been linked to improvement in risk factors for heart disease and diabetes, as well as benefits for digestion and gut health. Chia seeds are very easy to incorporate into a healthy diet”. You can read more here.

Chia oil is made by extracting oil from chia seeds. It’s rich in a variety of healthy fats, including omega-3 and omega-6, both of which have been linked to many health benefits.

I have been adding chia seeds to my oatmeal for a couple of years now. I always love to add some fruits (raw or dried), usually banana, on the day I took the picture above, I also added some golden berries. It was not until a couple of months ago I discovered chia oil.

I did wonder one time if there was chia oil when we have the likes, Flaxseed oil, Avocado oil, coconut oil e.t.c but I never really looked into it

Can you cook with Chia seed oil ?

That was the first question I asked when I first discovered chia oil. The answer is yes but note that oils, including chia seed oil, are highly concentrated sources of calories, so you have to be mindful of your portion size.

However, the chia seed oil is usually sold as a skin and hair product. Its high-fat content has shown it improves skin and hair health by sealing in moisture, reducing inflammation, and preventing dryness.

I think I have enough cooking oil

have been using Chia seed oil as my face moisturiser for a few months now; it is an excellent moisturiser. A little does go a long way, explains why they don’t sell them in big sizes.

The only downside for me is the smell, well at least with the one I am using as it is naturally-sourced, it smells of chia seed but I just like anything I put on my body to smell nice.

The one I currently use is a gifted item, click here to purchase.

Different brands have produced their version and can be bought at Amazon and pretty much any skincare store online.
The chia seed oil comes in a capsule form as well.

The additional information you will find on the bottle;

Chia seed oil can fight irritation, UV damage and even tackle stubborn blemishes.

It’s high-fibre content physically pulls water into the skin to help maintain moisture levels, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkle and even helping to relieve dryness and peeling.
